Innate Quality The concept behind this principle is that quality must be innate in the manufacturing process. It must be part of the product design. Automation falls under this principle. In lean manufacturing, the focus must be to do the task right the first time. Timely Production This principle requires manufacturing the right products at the right time and in the right quantities. Used with the Balanced Production principle, this principle allows movements only when necessary. Therefore, parts will not be used in products that are not necessary, and there will be no time wasted producing an unsalable product.
